Lots of the recipes I share are high protein recipes for meal prep & fitness. Not this one.
Ingredients
- Jalapenos
- Low fat Cream Cheese
- Center Cut Bacon (look for something with a 10 to 1 calories to protein ratio)
Instructions
- slice tops off of jalapenos, then slice them in half
- scoop out insides of jalapenos with a spoon so you have room for cream cheese.
- Note: The more seeds you remove on this step, the less spicy the poppers will be on average. You can also scoop out the insides of the jalapenos and then cook the insides on the stove with a little bit of oil and add them back to the poppers if you want them extra spicy.
- Warning: If you spend a lot of time scooping out jalapenos, the capsaicin can ‘burn’ your skin. If you’re preparing a lot of poppers either wear gloves or be mindful of the oils and make sure to wash your hands several times and not let the oils linger on your hands.
- Add 14g cream cheese to each popper.
- Add 1/3 slice of raw bacon to the top of each popper.
- Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 17 minutes. Depending on your oven, you may need to go a little longer.
